HANOI -- Heavy rains from Thursday to Friday triggered deadly floods and landslides in northern Vietnam's Dien Bien and Son La provinces, leaving 10 people dead and four injured, the Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority reported on Sunday.
In Dien Bien province, 10 people have been confirmed dead after two missing individuals were found, while 97 houses were swept away or severely damaged, and 196 others were inundated or affected by landslides. (Vietnam-Floods)

ADEN -- More than 20 migrants died and dozens remain missing after a smuggling boat carrying around 150 African migrants sank off the coast of Abyan Province in southern Yemen, Yemeni sources said Sunday.

NEW DELHI -- At least 11 people died and four sustained injuries when the private vehicle carrying them fell into a canal in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, confirmed the local police.
The mishap occurred in the state's Gonda district. The victims were returning after offering prayers at a nearby temple when they met with the mishap. There were a total of 15 people, including a few women, inside the ill-fated vehicle. (India-Accident-Deaths)

VLADIVOSTOK -- A 6.8 magnitude aftershock struck off Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced on social media.
